• Main Features of the AS 2741 Shackle:
  • Grade S bow shackles are easily identifiable and traceable. They are individually classified and stamped in accordance with the Australian standard AS 2741-2002 "Shackles," marked with the working load limit in tons (i.e., W.L.L. 3.2T), quality grade ("M"/"4", "S"/"6"), batch number (11/12), nominal size in millimeters (for example, 10 mm bow shackle), and supplier identification.
  • The bow shackle pin is normally coated with yellow powder, but custom colors are available upon request.
  • This shackle is suitable for 99.99% of vehicle recovery points and tow safety chain connections. Recommended for high-strength applications such as lifting, towing, and use on four-wheel drive or off-road vehicles.
  • Grade S bow shackles are rated for their capacity and produced through a quenching and tempering process. This process ensures that the shackle bends before breaking, thus preventing brittle fracture. This process also provides high fatigue resistance and ductility.
