The D-type shackle with a threaded pin is a robust and secure shackle, equipped with a safety pin, which increases its reliability in various lifting and tying applications.

This shackle uses a pin with a thread and nut, secured by a cotter pin, to prevent accidental disengagement.

D-type shackles, also known as chain shackles, have a narrower "D"-shaped bow compared to bow shackles (or anchor shackles), which makes them ideal for specific rigging needs.

These shackles are designed to withstand linear tension and should not be subjected to side loads, as this can cause distortion or bending of the bow. When using D-type or chain shackles, always ensure that the centerline of the load is aligned with the centerline of the shackle during use.

Our D-type shackles with threaded pins are versatile and can replace shackles with round pins or threaded pins in various applications. Even when subjected to rotation or torque, these shackles remain firmly secured due to their galvanization process. The safety pin provides double assurance against accidental loosening of the pin.

Shackles with threaded pins are particularly suitable for lifting and lashing applications where rotation of the eye may occur. The design with a nut and cotter pin eliminates the need to retighten the pin before each lift or load movement. This makes them ideal for long-term or semi-permanent installations, especially in situations where load movement may cause pin rotation.

• The shackles are hot-dip galvanized, while the pins are painted yellow or customized to order.
• In accordance with ASME B30.26-2004 and RR-C-271D standards.
• The test load is twice the working load limit (WLL) and the minimum breaking load is six times the WLL.
